Schaffer introduces the 2026 with 26hp Kubota engine a multifunctional articulated loader

Schaffer releases the multifunctional Schaffer articulated loader 2026. The 2026 articulated loader from Schaffer features a four-in-one-bucket, general purpose bucket, forks, chain trencher, post hole digger and grab bucket.

The Schaffer articulated loader 2026 has a 26hp Kubota engine, 26x12-12 tyres (skid steer or turf), a 2.5m mast, electric 4-in-1 controls mounted in the joystick and a hydraulic cooler to cope with hot conditions.

Hydrostatic driving hydraulics offer a motor in each axle, auxiliary flow of 40 l/min, straight tipping load of 900kg, operational load of 300kg, operational weight of 1400kg, from 1200mm wide.

A multifunctional articulated loader which can be used in building, construction, agriculture, horticulture, shires, landscaping, parks, golf courses, mining and more.

Wherever a mini skid steer is used the articulated loader 2026 becomes a great option which doesn’t dig up the ground and is gentle on your back.

Russell Kilner, a civil engineer, was drawn to the Schaffer articulated loader 2026 after seeing it at a trade show and noticing that it was of a higher construction standard than other marques in the local market.

“I realised that it was what I wanted because it is small enough to be easily transported but it has the capacity to do most of the work that I require of it.”

The Schaffer articulated loader 2026 was specifically modified from Germany’s articulated loader line up for Australia.

Manager of Schaffer Loaders in Australia, Cameron Moir says, “We recognised that there was a large market for small "tow able" material handling machines in Australia. This market is generally dominated by "micro" stand on skid steer Loaders. As the average vehicle can only tow two tonnes, Schaffer’s articulated loader standard European build was found to be too heavy.

“After consultation and looking at the product range Schaffer redesigned their articulated loader without counterweights and decided on a 15mm thick plate steel chassis instead of 20mm.”

This now gives Aussie operators the opportunity to use articulated loaders with a long wheel base, giving a superior ride. In contrast mini skid steers have a very short wheel base so the operator may bounce up and down a lot more. Schaffer articulated loaders also use axles with differentials which is the same system found on its giant counterparts in the mining industry.

The heavier operating weight of the Schaffer articulated loaders also allows the machine to be used for serious earthmoving. Instead of "floating" and "skipping" on top of the soil, possibly like very light weight mini skid steers, and not having the weight to dig in, the Schaffer articulated loaders are able to gain much greater purchase in the soil for pushing, leveling and scooping.

“Schaffer articulated loaders still have the highest operating weight compared to any other mini skid steer, stand on loaders on the market. The heavy weight is reflected in the largest ram diameter, strongest chassis, heaviest build on the market and the strongest hitch, even after shedding a few hundred kilos.”

Russell Kilner, a civil engineer and surveyor, knows what it’s like to own a Schaffer articulated loader 2026, using it for a variety of activities.

“I am assembling a small fleet of earthmoving plants which will allow me to conduct a smaller scale of ‘hands on’ work when the fancy takes me. I have also been looking after a sequence of earthen dams for the mining industry,” Russell says.

Russell has also used his articulated loader for a number of jobs including, driveways, house-pads and various drainage tasks. He also hires out the plate compactor and the chain trencher to people he knows.     R

ussell was drawn to the Schaffer articulated loader 2026 after seeing it at a trade show and noticing that it was of a higher construction standard than other marques in the local market.

“I realised that it was what I wanted because it is small enough to be easily transported but it has the capacity to do most of the work that I require of it.”

As Russell isn’t obliged to keep his ‘fleet’ in continuous work, he has the advantage of being able to keep an eye out for the tricky or different type of job.

“Once while on a dam wall job, we had no way of knowing how far the underlying material had settled under the weight of the new structure. So I suggested placing a steel plate on the ground and then having the surveyor check the level and location of it prior to building the new wall above it. I used my 2026 articulated loader with a Digga auger to drill down 3 meters to find the settlement plate and to determine a change in level.”

These hydraulic articulated loaders are of superior German engineering and for the last 50 years have been the leading brand in Europe under the 5 tonne operating weight.
