ABARES launches the 2012 Science Awards and Innovation Awards for Young People in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

Grant applications are now open, for individuals aged 18 – 35, and with the chance to apply for up to $22,000 fund towards innovative projects or emerging scientific issues beneficial to Australia’s primary industries.

The Science Awards and Innovation Awards focuses in encouraging science, innovation and technology in rural industries. The Awards help careers of young scientists advance receive national recognition of their research ideas.

Applicants are young people who undertake groundbreaking research and innovation with the objective of keeping Australia’s rural industries sustainable and profitable. The Science Awards and Innovation Awards has already helped more than 150 young Australians turn their ideas into reality.
