A Food Metal Detector was recently installed for a prominent bakery in West Australia to help ensure metal contaminant free products. Supplied by Accuweigh’s Perth branch, the Food Metal Detector was installed on this client’s loaf bagging lines prior to product distribution to local supermarkets.

Recent changes to supermarket QA standards have mandated for 100% inspection for weight compliance and metal foreign objects for ALL “home” branded products and Accuweigh’s Food Metal Detectors can help supermarket suppliers meet and even exceed these requirements. Most large supermarket chains now require all food products to be inspected by metal detection or x-ray inspection equipment for protection against product recalls due to potential product contamination by foreign objects.

In this bakery application, the two variable frequency Food Metal Detection heads are married to the existing loaf bagging lines by stainless steel conveyors with modular belts, reject pushers and lockable reject bins. Accuweigh’s Food Metal Detector utilises variable scanning frequencies which allows for better detection sensitivity across a broad selection of products of varying densities.

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has extensive industry experience in all forms of food inspection systems. Eight branches across mainland states provide Superior Product Support on Food Metal Detection, checkweighing and x-ray inspection equipment.
