Breeding of cattle and bulls from Ardcairnie Angus

Supplier News

Ardcairnie Angus  is a supplier and breeder of bulls and cows in Australia. Based in the Mount Barker area, the stud was established in the mid-eighties with foundation females from Strathtay and Moojepin Angus studs at Katanning and Narrogin. For many years, Ardcairnie Angus participated in the Knutsford Grass Fed Bull Trials at Kojonup with two bulls to ensure an access to the Angus Group Breedplan figures. The sales at the end of each of these trials gave Ardcairnie Angus the opportunity to showcase its bulls to a larger audience.

Surplus stock and finished feeder cattle from the company are usually sold directly to ensure a lower saleyard profile. Studs and commercial females from Ardcairnie Angus are registered with the Angus Society of Australia in the Herd Book Register (HBR). A few of these cattle and bulls are registered in the Angus Commercial Register (ACR) and the Angus Performance Register (APR).

Ardcairnie Angus was founded by studmaster Jim McGregor. At Ardcairnie Angus, the stud herd provides bulls for commercial herds. Over the years, bulls for the stud herds have been bought from the Koojan Hills, Blackrock, Strathtay and Teranga Angus Studs.
