Australian Perlite Pty Limited offers the Versatile Lightweight Insulating Concrete

Supplier News

Australian Perlite Pty Limited  makes available their Perlite concrete aggregate that is combined with portland cement and water to create a lightweight insulating concrete. This concrete is suitable for use with roof decks, floor fills, lightweight structural decks, as insulation for steam and coolant lines, bases of cryogenic storage tanks, oven insulation, areas in reconditioned water and sewer lines, interstitial floors in hospitals, lightweight pre-cast forms and blocks, statuary and as basic fills.

The physical property of the Perlite lightweight insulating concrete will vary according to mix designs; it can be made with a dry density of 320 kg/m3 or with the addition of sand or other aggregates up to 1440 kg/m3. The lower the density, the higher the insulating value.

Due to its Portland component, this insulating concrete offers up to 20 times more thermal insulation than ordinary concrete. It can be easily positioned on a flat, uneven or curved surface, but is ideally used for drainage slopes. The use of perlite lightweight concrete insulation minimises the need for structural steel, reduces cartage costs and improves energy efficiency.
