Ammonia extraction with refined technology from CSBP

Supplier News

CSBP  manufactures quality ammonia, nitric acid and ammonium nitrate using refined technology and that meets environmental standards. CSBP is a well-known firm producing quality industrial chemicals in Western Australia. Ammonia is manufactured by combining hydrogen from natural gas, steam, and air.

A mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen is compressed to high pressure, once carbon dioxide is extracted the resulting hydrogen and nitrogen reacts to form ammonia. The physical properties of ammonia is, it is toxic, a colourless gas, lighter than air, with a sharp, intensely irritating odour.

Ammonia is readily soluble in water. It is a vital raw material for industrial and agricultural applications. In Australia, ammonia is used as a feedstock for the manufacture of explosives, nitrogen based fertilisers and sodium cyanide. Ammonia is also used for refining nickel metals.

CSBP also manufactures nitric acid, by reacting ammonia with oxygen from the air with platinum as a catalyst to form nitrogen oxides that are later absorbed in water. The physical properties of nitric acid are a transparent, colourless to yellowish liquid which readily fumes.

Nitric acid a strong oxidising acid, is very corrosive and will dissolve most metals. Direct applications include photoengraving and metal pickling. Ammonium nitrate manufactured by CSBP is through the reaction of gaseous ammonia with concentrated nitric acid. Ammonium nitrate is an oxidising agent that gives off nitrogen oxides when it is heated.
