Pasture Disc Drills from CSN Machinery

Supplier News

CSN Machinery  supplies pasture disc drills from John Shearer in a choice of four sizes and designed to deliver reliable as well as consistent performance for many years.

John Shearer pasture disc drills are suitable for sowing into light or heavy soils. The agricultural machinery adds new life to any property or pasture by increasing the carrying capacity and improving productivity.

Pasture disc drills are available in four sizes:

  • 10-row pasture drills: 1.8m
  • 13-row pasture drills: 2.3m
  • 16-row pasture drills: 2.9m
  • 19-row pasture drills: 3.4m

The drills are available as 3-point linkage or trailed machines.

The single disc/boot assemblies cut a narrow slot into which seed and fertiliser is sown with minimal disturbance to the soil surface.

The breast cut of the discs is adjustable to vary the width of the sowing slot and each stump jump disc assembly is spring adjustable, with the option of double springs if required for sowing into heavier conditions.

Disc seeding maintains soil firmness that would be lost in a prepared seed bed.

The extra large grain and fertiliser compartments supplied as standard ensure less travelling time and stops between refills.

Pasture disc drills feature a strong sturdy construction and robust design with individually mounted, convenient clamp-on design, spring adjustable single disc assemblies.

High carbon steel discs run on fully sealed ball race bearings with auxiliary seals. Discs are less prone to block up and catch on crop residue.

Fluted distributors can handle a wide range of seeds from very small to large sizes.

Features also include:

  • Wide lead between rows for additional trash clearance
  • Simple sowing rate adjustment via wide range gearbox
  • Simple calibration of the sowing rates
  • Adjustable depth control and high flotation tyres
  • Sowing distributors and rubber gates mounted on aluminium shafts
  • Remote greasing facility for grain and fertiliser shaft bearings
  • In-cab electronic hectaremeter
  • Handrail and steps are standard on all sizes
  • Extra large sight glass and lid gas struts on hopper
  • Available in 3-point linkage or trailing options
