Carbon Farmers of Australia will be celebrating their successful 6 years campaigning of the Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI) legislation, which comes into power this November 2011.

Carbon Farmers of Australia has campaigned for the CFI legislation since 2007, which was an initiative to reward farmers for reducing emissions and storing carbon in soils.

The celebration will be continued in the fifth annual Carbon Farming Conference, on 27 – 29 September 2011 in Dubbo, NSW. The conference gathers farmers and scientists together to share their insights about carbon farming. This year, the focus is on preparing farmers to trade the carbon credits they would be soon earning under the CFI legislation.

The Carbon Farming Conference will feature expert speakers, from the global world of carbon trading and the highest levels of Government, which indludes James Schultz, Director of GreenCollar Climate Solutions; Shayleen Thompson, Head of the Land Division in Australia, and Freddy Sharpe, CEO of Climate Friendly.
