Case IH offers the True Tandem 330 Turbo for vertical tillage
Case IH invites producers to experience the next generation of vertical tillage: the True Tandem 330 Turbo.
The new unit is engineered to effectively manage crop residue and provide levelling for seedbed preparation.
The True Tandem 330 Turbo also increases productivity by enabling fewer passes and higher grounds speeds as compared to other tillage operations.
"If you're looking for a high-speed, low-draft implement with excellent seedbed and residue management capabilities, take a good look at the 330 Turbo," says Bill Preller, Case IH Crop Production Marketing Director.
"Our patented shallow concavity turbo blade design adds a whole new dimension to vertical tillage. Mounted on an angle, the blades move soil and residue laterally as well as up and down.
“The result is more complete soil movement at very shallow running depths, so you don't have to run it deep to get good soil movement. This also enables the True Tandem 330 Turbo to provide substantially better leveling than any other vertical tillage tool on the market."
Before Case IH engineers began developing the 330 Turbo, they asked customers and dealers what features they would like to see in vertical tillage equipment.
"They wanted versatility - addressing both seedbed preparation and residue management. They also wanted the ability to level," Bill Preller adds. "With our exclusive blade design, we hit the magic sweet spot between vertical tillage and leveling."
The True Tandem 330 Turbo can be used in the fall or spring to manage residue, residue size, remove corn root balls and bring residue in contact with the soil to promote breakdown, anchor residue and reduce hairpinning.
According to Bill Preller, managing residue in the fall allows for faster decomposition, enabling easier spring planting.
"You can also put the unit to work in the spring when fields are soggy and muddy - as well as when they're too dry. This implement will break the crust, aerate the soil and improve seedbed warming," Bill Preller says.
"The 330 Turbo prepares the seedbed for optimum growth, provides more uniform seedbed depth and soil temperature, and doesn't leave coulter slots that can dry out. It's ideal for no-till and minimum-till operations, or in any situation that requires residue management."
Bill Preller adds that the True Tandem 330 Turbo is faster than other tillage operations, with a good horsepower-per-foot ratio. "Faster operation means higher productivity and less cost than conventional tillage," he notes.
The 330 Turbo requires a tractor with PTO horsepower ranging from 5 to 7 per foot, three hydraulic remote valves and minimum hydraulic pressure of 2200 p.s.i.
Proven, rugged frame design:
A frame-mounted, rolling harrow with a proven frame design, the True Tandem 330 Turbo requires no additional weight.
"The rugged frame sports heavy-duty spring cushion gangs and pivoting stabilizer wheels," says Bill Preller.
The main frame is available in two sizes, which includes the following:
- 25 foot - weighs 14,990lbs and includes 82 20 inch turbo blades and 18 bearings spaced 7.5 inches apart, for a total tillage width of 24 feet 7 inches
- 34 foot - weighs 19,900lbs and includes 114 20 inch turbo blades and 28 bearings spaced 7.5 inches apart, for a 34 foot 1 inch tillage width
During transportation, the 25-foot machine folds up to a 15 foot 9 inch width and 11 foot 3 inch height. The transport size of the 34-foot machine is 17 feet 10 inches wide and 14 feet 3 inches high.
