Case IH is a supporter of the use of biodiesel and advises that its use must always follow proper protocol.

There are a few, simple to follow, best practice procedures that Case IH recommends keeping in mind when using biodiesel.  These are:

  • most importantly - always use clean fuel and keep it clean
  • only purchase biodiesel blends from trusted, BQ-9000 producers and certified fuel suppliers
  • treat biodiesel storage tanks with a moisture dispersant
  • avoid copper, brass, lead, tin and zinc in tanks and fittings
  • reduce risk of contamination by use of a biocide
  • ensure that in-line filters are biodiesel compatible
  • install a fuel/water separator
  • keep tanks topped off and take other steps to minimise in-tank condensation
  • always follow recommended maintenance schedules
All Case IH engines are fully compatible with the use of B5.  Wherever possible Case IH equipment is shipped with a biodiesel blend in the tank.  Case IH also supports the use of 100% biodiesel (B100) and B20 with the majority of its medium to high horsepower farm machinery, including:
  • tractors
  • combines
  • cotton pickers
  • sprayers
  • windrowers
Contact Case IH for more information about successfully swapping over to biodiesel and its compatible products and machinery.
