Crop Care Australasia launched a major promotion in April for their key products, targeted at broadacre farmers across the country.

Hailed as a success by Crop Care’s reseller customers, the BIG 5 promotion featured the company’s top five post-emergent products in a colourful guide that was widely distributed in major rural weekly newspapers in April. A key objective of the promotion was to reinforce Crop Care’s role as a key supplier of crop protection products to Australian farmers.

The BIG 5 promotion featured Unity 240 EW, Nail and Factor herbicides, Astral 250 EC insecticide and Supercharge Elite spray oil adjuvant.

Seasonal reminders have also been provided in the guide about the importance of crop growth stages to correctly time herbicide applications as well as tackle red-legged earth mites. The guide also encouraged farmers to take advantage of the company’s suite of technical notes, product profiles and application guides on the website or discuss with their local rural reseller.

The BIG 5 promotion was well received by resellers and farmers alike, according to Crop Care’s Marketing Manager Chris Ramsey, who said that the campaign was not only one of the biggest launched by the company in recent years but also coincided with the break to the season in many parts of southern Australia.

Among the BIG 5 products, Unity 240 EW (carfentrazone) is a broad spectrum post emergent herbicide for the control of wild radish, Indian hedge mustard, volunteer pulses, double gee and other weeds in broadacre crops and pyrethrum; Nail (carfentrazone ethyl) is recommended for improving the control of small flowering marshmallow and other annual broadleaf weeds prior to crop establishment and in fallows in tank mixtures with knockdown herbicides; and Factor (butroxydim) is a water dispersible granular formulation developed as a standalone product for improved control of annual ryegrass and other annual grass weeds in winter pulses, legume pastures and oilseed crops.
