NSW Farmers’ join forces with NLIS Tag Manufacturer, Datamars

Supplier News

The New South Wales Farmers Association (NSWFA) has entered a supply arrangement with Livestock ID Company, Datamars Australia .

In a multi-tiered agreement, NSWFA members will be able to purchase existing NLIS cattle tags through the Association and will also act as a conjute for the flow of information on new NLIS tag product development and trialling for all species, direct with Datamars.

Guy Hannan, General Manager, Commercial Services NSWFA said, “I see the additional benefits to members as being much more than providing a better avenue through which to source high quality tags, but more a partnership whereby new products can be developed and trialled to directly meet the requirements of members, at the request of members.”

Trials on NLIS tags and other products at member properties began in April and already development has been undertaken based on member feedback in the Sheep, Cattle and Aquaculture industries.

Datamars National Sales and Marketing Manager, Tim Scott said, “We see that a virtual market monopoly that has developed since the inception of NLIS. This must be a concern to consumers. Datamars, being the only fully vertically integrated manufacturer of Radio Frequency devices in the market, competes successfully in most livestock markets across the world with the large players.”
