Every year fire authorities across the country urge people living in fire prone regions to be prepared.  This coming year is already looking to be a year when no one should ignore that advice.  Fires in Queensland and NSW in August are not unheard of, but highly unusual, and often a forewarning to more serious fire events once the heat of summer arrives.

Davey Water Products are a leading supplier of portable high pressure engine driven pumps to the Australian market, manufacturing their world famous Firefighter pumps end in Melbourne and fitting them to quality brand name petrol engines in their Scoresby factory.

“We have a long earned reputation for dependability” commented Davey’s Market Manager, Ashley White, “so it’s very important to us that the engines we fit to our pumps are also the most dependable available.”

Davey offer a choice of pumps powered by petrol engines from both Honda and also Briggs & Stratton.  Davey also have a range of models equipped with high quality diesel engines from the Yanmar.  “We don’t believe in taking chances with peoples life or property offering engines that may or may not work when needed – it’s just not worth the risk,”  said White.

Even with the best equipment, other things need to be considered at the start of every fire season to ensure the pump unit and associated equipment is ready if needed.
