The 2011 AGFEST Field Days exhibition has gotten underway and runs from Friday 5th May to Saturday 7th May near Launceston in Tasmania.

The three day agricultural exhibition began in 1983, attracting 9,000 visitors with 111 exhibitors. This year, the expo has swelled to accommodate over 750 exhibitors and is expecting more than 70,000 visitors to the show.

AGFEST ag expo boasts an extra 46 sites this year to accommodate the growing exhibitors.

Joining the regular features, including the Equine Expo and Rural Youth Feature, there is a new Sports Shear Demonstration/Competition area where visitors will be able to experience shearing and wool classing demonstrations all day every day, as well as the State competition that will be held on the Saturday.

  • Unique Taste Pavilion
  • Working Sheep Dog Championships
  • The Heritage Trail display including vintage steam displays
  • Beef Expo
  • Dairy Feature Marquee
  • All Terrain Vehicle Demonstrations
  • Trades Expo
  • Ag Art Wear Competition; and
  • Craft Pavillions
AGFEST provides the ideal opportunity for city dwellers to reconnect with rural life, and appreciate the growth and significance of agriculture in their state.

Organised and run by approximately 120 volunteers from the Rural Youth Organisation of Tasmania, AGFEST is a self funded event that goes towards helping the local economy by generating millions of dollars.
