A multi-purpose wagon that can be used for feeding silage to livestock or as a chaser bin at harvest has won the 2010 Westpac Machine of the Year Award. The award was announced this week at The Henty Machinery Field Days (HMFD).
The wagon, known as The Fliegl Push Off Trailer System, is distributed by the New Zealand-based company, Giltrap Ag Equipment. It can also be used to spread fertiliser or can be detached for use as a standard trailer on a prime mover.
Warren Grose, sales manager at Giltrap was delighted at winning the award and said that the German-made machine had attracted plenty of attention during the three-day event.
The Colossus metal baling machine, an Australian innovation which was designed and built by Cootamundra-based Gammon Metal Recycling, was highly commended by the judges.
The Governor-General of Australia, Ms Quentin Bryce AM, opened this year’s Henty Machinery Field Days. The event attracted bumper crowds and was considered a great success.
As Australia’s premier showcase of mixed farming field days, HMFD offers all the quality agricultural products and services, in one place.
