Flexible insect screens from Flexiscreen

Supplier News

Several holidays to Tasmania for an Adelaide Hills couple eventually led to Flexiscreens , a business manufacturing fly screens.

Carol and husband John holidayed in the Apple Isle. “We loved the place so much that we purchased an old 1860’s cottage in the Huon Valley and moved there,” she says. The cottage was surrounded by cow paddocks and with cows come flies. During renovations the couple discovered that the old, out of square and unusual style windows of the cottage were nearly impossible to screen but something had to be done.

The idea to create a business making flexible insect screens that attach by velcro was hatched over a couple of glasses of wine, and after months working on a prototype Flexiscreens was born in 2000.

Insect screens from Flexiscreens can be custom made to suit a range of shapes and sizes. Flexiscreens incorporate velcro fasteners, the loop part (13mm) is double stitched to the mesh and the self-adhesive hook (13mm) sticks to the window frame for convenient installation. Flexiscreens are available in a choice of four trim colours to suit most decors. Their slim, discrete appearance and low profile make for an integrated look.

Flexiscreen insect screens are operated by peeling them back to open the window and then press back into place. Insect screens from Flexiscreen provide an alternative to rigid insect screens.

Flexiscreens insect screens can be folded and posted for a DIY installation which is provides a time saving benefit.

Other applications for Flexiscreens include: decorative security doors, boats, motor homes and caravans.

Flexiscreen insect screens are now available in the wider 25mm Velcro brand fastener for larger screening requirements.
