Bulls on offer at Gyranda Annual Bull Sale a "sound investment"

Supplier News

Burnett and Louise Joyce from Gyranda Santa Gertrudis Stud would like to extend an invitation to attend two important events, at “Gyranda” Theodore; the Gyranda Open Day on Thursday 12th August 2010, and the Gyranda Annual Bull Sale on Thursday 16th September.

The Gyranda Open Day

The Gyranda Information and pre-sale selection day is always a popular annual event, with cattle breeders often travelling long distances to attend.

The setting on the banks of the Dawson River, make it one of the most scenic sale yard complexes in Australia. Burnett and Louise Joyce always ensure there are interesting speakers, with topics that aim at improving the profitability of a beef operation.

This year they hope to incorporate a tour of inspection of the Gyranda herds, giving cattlemen and women the opportunity to see the basis of the stud.

The sale bulls will be on display, giving visitors and interested buyers the opportunity to inspect them at leisure, with the ability to walk through them, ask questions of the Gyranda team, and make pre-selections without the pressure of sale day.

Many find this invaluable, as they can discuss their situation with Burnett, or any of the speakers, and get advice on possible purchases. It also enables them to make their selections, in the event that they find they are unable to attend the sale.

The Gyranda Annual Bull Sale

The results in Prime Cattle Classes at Theodore Show this year are testament to the above performance being achieved at Gyranda, under natural conditions. These results included Champion Pen of Females, Champion Pen of Steers and Most Successful Exhibitor.

The 100 bulls for sale this year show the importance of genetics which are the result of decades of careful selection. They have been prepared for sale on pasture and leucaena / grazing crop, so are in ideal condition to go straight to work. They look excellent, and Burnett and Louise Joyce strongly recommend them as a sound investment to improve profitability.

All bulls have passed a strict breeding soundness evaluation and semen morphology tests. Feedback and the number of return clients tells Burnett and Louise Joyce that the fertility of their bulls is excellent. These bulls are young and active, and the fact that they continue to grow out helps ensure they are an economically sound investment.
