Spectrum Technologies has received an AE50 Award for their new soil moisture/ EC/ temperature sensor, an innovative tool designed for producers.

The WaterScout SMEC 300 is a new soil moisture/ EC/ temperature sensor designed to measure three key soil properties, moisture, EC and temperature with little or no disturbance to the root zone.

The carbon ink EC electrodes provide a large conductive surface area while the EC sensors can be calibrated with a simple, 1-step process.

The AE50 Award is presented to the top 50 innovative new products produced throughout the world for the agricultural, food and biological systems industries, which bring time, cost and labour savings for producers while improving user safety.

SMEC 300 soil moisture/ EC/ temperature sensors can be operated via a handheld reader for fast and accurate spot readings or buried in the ground to track soil moisture changes over a period of time via a WatchDog datalogging weather station.

Spectrum products are exclusively distributed by John Morris Scientific  within Australia, New Zealand and the Island of Western Pacific.
