Kubota's Versatile BX1830 Sub-Compact Tractor

Supplier News

Since Kubota Australia introduced the sub-compact tractor concept to the world six years ago, demand for this type of ride on mower/small tractor combination has been staggering.

In Australia, sub compact tractors have become so popular that they now make up the majority of sales in the entire 0 to 20 PTO kW market segment.

The Kubota BX1830 complete with a 54 inch mid mount mower deck is ideal for customers in the market for a heavy-duty mower with the extra versatility of a small tractor.

The BX1830 is powered by a three cylinder, 18 horsepower, diesel engine featuring Kubota’s exclusive Three Vortex Combustion System. This new generation engine significantly lowers emission and noise levels while enhancing performance and fuel economy.

An easy to use, two range, hydrostatic transmission is ideal for mowing and loader applications requiring frequent direction changes. If conditions become slippery, or slopes are encountered, the BX1830 has the added advantage of four wheel drive.

To reduce operator fatigue, full hydrostatic power steering is standard. All controls and levers are within easy reach for more comfortable operation. A full-flat operator’s deck provides plenty of leg room while the instrument panel allows operators to quickly check primary functions such as fuel level, engine temperature, rpm’s and hours of operation.

The optional quick attach 54 inch (1371mm) mid mount mower deck features dial type cutting height adjustment positioned within easy reach of the operator. This self-balancing mower deck delivers a smooth, level cut, regardless of ground undulations, because the attaching linkages allow the deck to flow freely over the ground.

A thick (9.5mm) welded steel, ladder-shaped frame ensures the BX1830 has the strength and durability to stand up to tough working conditions. This inherent strength also means the BX1830 can be fitted with an optional front end loader. Capable of lifting over 200 kg, the Kubota made loader is built exclusively for the BX1830, has a joystick control and can be easily removed. For safety, a counterweight is supplied with every loader free of charge.

Tractor type three point hitch and a 540 rpm PTO take versatility even further. A wide range of implements such as rotary hoes, post-hole diggers, mulchers, sprayers and grader blades can be used. Category one, rather than category zero, linkage ends means the BX1830 suits the full range of implements available at dealerships. Implement engagement is actuated via a hydraulic live independent PTO clutch.

A rollover protection structure (ROPS) and seatbelt are standard equipment on the BX1830.

With pricing positioned closely to conventional diesel powered ride-on mowers, the choice for customers is clear.

Why purchase a machine that only cuts grass when the BX series can do so much more?
