Established in 1986, the Livestock & Rural Transporters Association of South Australia Inc (LRTASA) represent livestock and rural transporters throughout South Australia.

The LRTASA is a not for profit association that promote animal welfare, efficiency and professional standards of integrity within the livestock and rural transport industry.

The Association is also committed to continuing the fight to improve all aspects of the road transport industry for its members.

The LRTASA is a state level association that is part of the national industry body, the Australian Livestock and Rural Transporters Association (ALRTA), which represents hard working road transport companies.

Like ALRTA, the LRTASA works with:

  • governments at all levels
  • industry groups
  • community organisations
  • regulators
  • media

The Association works hard to keep abreast of all relevant issues in the industry including:

  • ensuring there are adequate loading facilities, amenities and truck wash facilities
  • solutions to reduce waiting/queuing timesImproving or requesting designated, adequate truck parks
  • animal welfare
  • chain of responsibility
  • registration and fuel charges

The LRTASA ensure that rural trucking is protected and promoted as a sustainable, responsible and safe contributor to rural and regional Australia and its primary industries.
