Rising to the demand, Marcus Oldham College at Geelong Victoria is expanding into the postgraduate arena in July this year.  Currently the college has various courses on offer which include a Bachelor and Advanced Diploma of Business in Farm Management;  a Diploma, Associate Degree and Bachelor of Business in Agribusiness and a Diploma of Horse Business Management. Adding to this selections of courses, Marcus Oldham College will now offer postgraduate programs.

The postgraduate courses on offer as of July include a Graduate Certificate in Agribusiness - four units - which leads to a Graduate Diploma of Agribusiness – an additional four units. The
College is currently accepting applications for Trimester 2, which starts in July and for Trimester 1 of next year, which commences in March. The postgraduate program is online with supporting printed material, tutorial support and student chat groups.

Key benefits of these postgraduate courses include their flexibility and the fact that they can be undertaken on a trimester basis. This means that students can complete the program more quickly than if it was offered on the normal semester basis.  Students are able to choose from a broad range of elective units on offer by the College and by other approved universities. The aim of setting up these postgraduate courses was to allow people to enhance their career prospects in agribusiness, whether that career is on farm or in the agriculture service sector.  It is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to upgrade their understanding of the industry and to enhance their business management skills.

Dr Simon Livingstone, Principal of Marcus Oldham College, says that  "...it is a practical postgraduate program designed to meet a gap in the range of postgraduate agribusiness programs currently on offer in Australia."

There are several postgraduate scholarships and more information is available on the College’s website or contact the College directly.  Students can also lodge online an application for admission, a request for advanced standing and an application for a postgraduate scholarship.
