Marschay Shorthorns  was established in 1975 and this company is currently registered with around four hundred cows. Marschay Shorthorns maintains good quality of sires by using quality genetics. Some of the sires used by Marschay Shorthorns include Marellan Grasshopper, Marellan Electrician, Marschay Uptake and Moombi Southern Cross.

Marschay Shorthorns was started by the McKay brothers and this is one of the well known Shorthorn Studs in Victoria. Marschay Shorthorns has purchased two sires which are Marellan Electrician and Moombi Southern Cross. Using quality breeds like these Marschay Shorthorns carries out commercial breeding extensively. The approach of Marschay Shorthorns is towards the production of off springs with good carcass and milking traits.

Marschay Shorthorns is also involved in artificial insemination programmes. Some of the sire lines through artificial insemination include The Grove Condamine, Moombi Starlight, Maronlea Discovery, Murtle Vale Cardinal, Spry’s Power Plus, Bundaleer Statesman and so on. Apart from these various sires have also been purchased by Marschay Shorthorns. These sires are chosen based on their genetic make up and other characteristics.
