Merial were established in 1997 as a joint venture of Rhone Merieux and MSD AgVet. Merial are a research driven company with dedicated services related to the development, discovery, manufacture and delivery of pharmaceuticals and vaccines for the enhancement of the performance and health of a wide range of animal species.
Merial have divided their operations into two major business units, which include companion animal and production animal. Each business units operates its own marketing, technical personnel and sales services in addition to the support of research and development, regulatory affairs, customer and finance service teams.
Merial’s key products include the IVOMEC range of cattle, sheep and swine health products and EQUIMEX for horses. Products are made available in more than 1,750 veterinary clinics. Merial market their products through veterinary wholesalers.
