Tier 4A emission regulations will be a requirement from 2011 on all medium to heavy-duty engines above 174hp (130 kW).

New Holland's Clean Energy Leader initiative has heavily influenced their approach to the Tier 4 regulations, emphasising their commitment to providing customers with ingenious solutions in tractors and combines that make farming more efficient and environment-friendly.

Throughout 2011 New Holland will launch their new T7, T8, and T9 ranges of tractors, all compliant with Tier 4A regulations.

New Holland Marketing Manager, Simon Vigour says that the company will commence offering the market 20 tractor and 6 combine models with Tier 4A engines by the beginning of next year.

New T7 tractors

The T7 range has been extended and upgraded for greater farming efficiency, productivity and application flexibility. The new Tier 4A SCR equivalent models display 7% increase in maximum power and 13% in torque.

A key advantage is quicker engine response time ensuring that farmers and contractors have more performance to improve the efficiency of their businesses.

The new T7 range also introduces the Auto Command CVT transmission for all models. The new Auto Command is the first of a new generation of CVT transmissions, which ensures a further enhancement of efficiency beyond the traditional benefit of CVT technology.

New T8 Tractors

The all-new Tier 4A-compliant T8 tractors incorporate a unique combination of features and are designed to revolutionise large-scale agriculture.

The compact but long wheelbase concept combines the transport and traction stability of a long wheelbase design with the manoeuvrability of traditional row crop tractors to offer customers a truly crossover machine.

The compact long wheelbase architecture improves stability and enhances agility in all applications, without compromising turning angle and overall performance.

A spacious cab and SideWinder II armrest controls with whisper-quiet operation facilitate superior operator comfort.

New T9 4EWD Tractors

The new T9 tractors is a line of very powerful 4WD tractors, completely redesigned and packed with award-winning ergonomic features that comfortably put the control of power at the user’s fingertips.

New Holland High Horsepower Product Manager Don Forrester says that the new tractor models bring significant new technical features to the market including engine enhancing performance while controlling exhaust emissions to the new Tier 4a standards.

He adds that New Holland is the first agricultural player to announce a clear road map for Tier 4 regulations.

New Holland's renowned engine power management technology, which continuously adjusts engine output to working conditions by means of an intelligent sensing of the PTO, hydraulic and transmission loads will be highlighted through an evolution of the New Holland numbering system on all new Tier 4A tractors.

The new numbering strategy leverages on the benefits of the Tier 4A SCR technology and underlines its benefits using two key elements, the tractor range category and maximum engine power management horsepower for each model.
