New Holland Agriculture , suppliers of hay and forage equipment in Australia, are supporting the 2009 Hay and Silage Feed Quality Competition in NSW. New Holland will be a leading sponsor for the competition, conducted by the NSW Department of Primary Industries.

In announcing its support, New Holland’s Product Manager for Combines, Balers and Haytools, Mr Tony Peters said, “It’s very important for all farmers, who produce hay and silage to ensure that the best quality fodder is produced from the feed available for long term conservation. The recent run of drought over the years has seen farmers conserve whatever material has been available. This is not necessarily always the best option. Conserving thebest feed quality should be paramount in the minds of producers.”

Peters went on to say, “The only way to ensure the best quality hay and silage is produced from the available material was to have the feed material tested by an approved testing lab.The NSW DPI offers an independent and economical testing facility at Wagga Wagga.”

Peters said, “The 2009 NSW Hay and Silage Feed Quality Competition will increase the awareness of the need to test fodder. New Holland is delighted to be associated with this competition and looks forward to providing prizes in a wide range of categories.”

Entry forms are available from all offices of the NSW Department of Primary Industries and local NSW New Holland Dealers.
