Polyphaz has helped Mt Gambier dairy farm in South Australia to improve the reliability and lower power consumption at the 24/7 automated dairy, by designing and installing  a control system utilising its Polyphaz rotary convertor.  

The rotary convertor system installed at the Mt Gambier automated dairy has high specifications including:  

  • three phase power output voltage of L1 > L2= 418v, L1 > L3= 429v, L2 > L3= 426v
  • one phase power output voltage of L1 > N = 237v, L2 > N = 244v, L3 > N = 243v
  • low power consumption
  • high short circuit fault rating  
The dairy farmer at the Mt Gambier dairy said that he was extremely happy with the installation of the rotary convertor unit and is impressed that the unit is so much quieter than the small 2.2kW Vacuum pumps that it is installed next to.  

By installing the rotary convertor the automated dairy farm is able to benefit from the low power consumption without a large amount of power consumption, thanks to the unique Polyphaz floating pole rotary, combined with a relatively high fault rating of 25 KA.
