Sarah Becker of Rockhampton, Central Queensland, was last night awarded the title of the Beef Australia 2012 Rabobank Young Beef Ambassador.

The Rabobank/Queensland Country Life Red Meat Award ceremony was held at the Beef Australia 2012 exposition in Rockhampton and was attended by leading figures in the Australian beef industry.

Upon receiving the award Ms Becker said that she felt very privileged to receive the accolade of Rabobank Young Beef Ambassador.

The agricultural focused chartered accountant went on to explain that she believes that the beef industry is diverse and as a result “must collaborate and work as a united team” in order to compete within an international economy.

Ms Becker has also gained a wealth of experience of the beef industry participating in the physical operation of her parents’ cattle holdings over several properties in Queensland.

Applicants for this year’s Rabobank Young Beef Ambassador were selected from leading up and coming industry individuals and were judged their successful approach to farm business management and contributions to the beef industry.

Young Beef Ambassadors were required to demonstrate their commitment and vision for the future of the Australian beef industry and assess on their personal achievements.

Sarah was awarded with a $5,000 prize scholarship to participate in the Rabobank Farm Managers Program2013.
