Rabobank  Australia and New Zealand Group announces Phil Streten’s appointment to the position of group executive, Wholesale Banking.

Moving from his current position as general manager, Corporate Banking, Mr Streten takes over from Paul Beiboer, who has been appointed general manager of the London branch and regional head of Wholesale Banking Europe for the global Rabobank.

Rabobank Australia and New Zealand CEO Thos Gieskes describes Mr Streten, a veteran of 15 years with Rabobank’s corporate banking business in Australia and New Zealand as ‘very well-credentialed’ to step into the role.

Phil was instrumental in the transformation of this part of the bank from a start-up wholesale business in Sydney to its current position as a highly-respected corporate banking brand across Australia and New Zealand, leading in the food and agribusiness segment. Mr Gieskes is confident that Phil will replicate the impressive and sustainable growth achieved under his leadership in the Corporate Banking division, in the other wholesale business areas of the bank.

In his new role, Mr Streten will become a member of Rabobank Australia and New Zealand’s executive committee and oversee all of the bank’s wholesale operations in both countries.

Mr Streten said he was looking forward to take over the helm of the wider Wholesale Banking side of Rabobank Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Gieskes said Mr Streten’s successor in the role of general manager, Corporate Banking would be announced shortly.
