Stud bulls from Red Hill Droughtmaster Stud

Supplier News

Red Hill Droughtmasters Stud,  located in Yardina Creek, Queensland, breeds commercial bulls and stud sires. Founded by Karen & Walter Hodgins in 2005, Red Hill Droughtmasters Stud breeds droughtmaster cattle. Both Karen and Walter Hodgins have years of experience in livestock maintenance.

Red Hill Droughtmasters Stud was started with cattle from Billabong, Parawanga, Haigslea and Minlacowie. Red Hill Droughtmasters Stud runs nearly 35 cattle and focuses on the structure, temperament and quality of the breed. Droughtmasters’ ability to adapt to adverse conditions and their low maintenance cost have made Karen & Walter Hodgins to choose droughtmasters for their stud.

The cattle at the Red Hill Droughtmasters are put under a strict culling process every year and only the best of these cattle is used for the breeding program. The stud includes three sires, which have participated and topped in many shows including the Grand Champion Droughtmaster Bull at Sunshine Coast Show. All three sires have great length, good structure and muscling.

Red Hill Droughtmasters Stud also participates in the national bull sale. The participating bulls will be semen tested and fully vaccinated before the sale. Pre-scratching of these bulls will be done until the day of the sale to check their temperament.
