The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is a not for profit body that focuses on promoting the agriculture industry and highlighting its positive contribution to both the livelihood of Australians and the Australian economy.

RAS celebrates the Australian agriculture industry and supports its continued achievements via the organisation of an array of events, competitions and educational programs.

These include the Sydney Royal Competitions which encompass,

  • The Easter Show competitions Sydney
  • Fine Food Show competitions
  • Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show
  • Cheese and Dairy Produce Show

Here the focus is on showcasing products created using resources from Australia’s agriculture sector, along with the skills, talents, passions and quality workmanship of those responsible for creating such products.

These may include wine, cheese, ice cream and honey, along with competitons that reward those who breed high quality cattle, horses, goats, sheep and so forth.

RAS is well aware that if the Australian agriculture industry is to continue to flourish, sustainable practices must be implemented.

RAS members subsequently donate a significant amount of time and energy into advocating for the sustainable development of the agriculture sector.

As evidence of its commitment to rural communities, RAS has developed RASF, the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Foundation.

This foundation provides grants and scholarships that facilitate educational programs and foster skill development in rural communities.

RAS respects and values its members and volunteers, and is wholly funded by member subscriptions, gate receipts from competitions and shows, sponsorships, ground operations, space rentals, donations and commissions.
