The Southern NSW Region of the Australian Alpaca Association Ltd (SNSWR) caters to alpaca breeders situated in the Southern Highlands just south of Sydney through to the Victorian border.

The areas that the breeders association encompasses are responsible for producing some of the best quality alpaca fibre in the country, and are thus highly sought after on a national and international scale.

The production of such high quality alpaca fibre in the region reflects the superior genetics, health and high supply of these alpacas, along with the application of effective breeding techniques.

In partnership with Quechua Benefit, the breeders association is responsible for developing InSight Peru, an initiative that demonstrates the association’s commitment to the alpaca breeding industry on a global level.

InSight Peru aims to provide Peruvian people located in the Cola Valley, a site where alpacas originate from, with quality health care services, particularly those that assist in the restoration of sight.

SNSWR provides its members with a vast range of information related to the alpaca breeding industry from reports and studies through breeding tips and show results.

The breeders association is comprised of a vice-president, treasurer, secretary and three members, who form the associations Committee.

The Committee meets on a regular basis to collectively discuss and debate the alpaca breeding industry for the benefit of alpaca breeders in the Southern NSW region.

SNSWR provides those interested in becoming alpaca breeders with assistance and well-informed advice, and new members are welcome.
