Stocktrans started its humble beginnings during 1988 at the north coast town of Grafton NSW. The first unit was a second hand Mack superliner and 2 deck cattle float which company founder Joe Sepos purchased at auction from Chinchilla in Queensland.
This truck carried cattle from various NSW saleyards into Gilbertsons who at that time were the owners of the Grafton abattoir. During the following 2-3 years the business had increased to 6 units with an office and workshop facility next to the railway line in south Grafton.
