Bogard fungicide available from Syngenta
Bogard, available from Syngenta , is a DMI fungicide for the control of black spot in apples and pears.
Bogard rapidly penetrates the plant tissue to provide local systemic disease control in both a protectant and curative spray programme.
- Active constituent: 100g/kg difenoconazole
- Formulation: Water dispersible granule
- Resistance group: Group C Fungicide
Benefits:
- Powerful control of Black Spot
- 5 day kickback
- All weather protection, 2 hours after application
- Local systemic activity
- Suited to Integrated Pest Management programmes
- A flexible rate giving growers the flexibility to apply the product alone or in mixtures with other protectant fungicides
Mode of action:
Bogard has quick penetration and moves through the leaf to stop early development of the disease and thus provides both curative and protective activity. Bogard belongs to the group of demethylation inhibitor fungicides (DMI’s or Group C Fungicides).
Application timing:
Spur burst to petal fall:
Protective programme
- Apply Bogard from spur burst
- Repeat applications at 7 to 10 day intervals until full petal fall
- After 4 applications, apply BOGARD only as a tank mix with a protectant Scab fungicide
Curative programme
- Apply Bogard within 5 days of the beginning of an infection period or when the spore warning service indicates that an infection period has occurred
- After petal fall apply BOGARD only as a tank mix with a protectant Scab fungicide
Petal fall onwards:
Protective programme
- Apply the tank mixture of Bogard plus a registered protectant Scab fungicide at 14 to 21 day intervals as required depending on weather conditions and disease incidence
Curative programme
- Apply the tank mixture of Bogard plus a registered protectant Scab fungicide within 5 days of the beginning of an infection period or when the spore warning service indicates that an infection period has occurred
Resistance Management
- This use is subject to the CropLife Australia Fungicide Anti-Resistance Strategy
Integrated Pest Management (IPM):
Bogard is suitable for use in IPM programmes; Bogard is harmless to predators in situations, where integrated mite control is practiced e.g. T. pyri, T. occidentalis, Stethorus spp. at 35g rate.
Compatibility:
Bogard 100 WG can be mixed with:
CHORUS, SUPRACIDE, INSEGAR, PYRANICA, Delfin, Dipel, Mavrik, PIRIMOR and some formulations of chlorpyrifos, diazinon, azinphosmethyl, parathion, propargite, carbaryl, endosulfan, calcium nitrate, calcium chloride, magnesium sulphate and the protectant scab fungicides Innova mancozeb, dithianon, metiram and ziram.
Mixing:
Bogard 100 WG is a water dispersible granule (WG) fungicide which mixes readily with water. Partly fill the spray tank with water. Start the agitation and add the correct amount of product to the spray tank with the agitation system running. Continue agitation while topping up the spray tank with water and while spraying.
