Tarndwarncoort Polwarths provides unique Australian Polwarth fleece wool, which is soft, well crimped and measures 24 micron with about 10-12 centimetres of staple. It is suitable for hand spinning. Tarndwarncoort Polwarths produces approximately one thousand natural coloured and white sheep wear every year, highly designed special sheep coats. These coats are designed by removing dust, grass seeds, mud, harsh burnt and bleached wool tips.
Despite the drought climatic condition in Western Victoria, Tarndwarncoort Polwarths focuses in producing healthy coated Polwarth with its natural coloured, quality wool. The ranges of natural colours produced by Polwarth are from white to silver grey shades, mid through dark grey shades and black. Tarndwarncoort Polwarths also provides brown shades, from tan to dark chocolate in colour. This natural coloured wool is suitable for hand spin.
Tarndwarncoort Polwarths is about to organise Victorian 2008 events, namely the sheep and wool show at Bendigo (18 - 20 July) and Birregurra Festival (5 - 6 October). Customers can also buy Tarndwarncoort Polwarths wool from Tourist Information Centres at Apollo Bay, Colac and Lorne. Tarndwarncoort Polwarths products are available at Flying Fishes (Lorne), National Wool Museum (Geelong), Otway Fly Tree Walk (Lavers Hill) and Tasmanian Wool Centre (Ross).
