Valmont  Irrigation is currently overseeing research on producing rice under mechanized irrigation.

Trials are being conducted in an effort to use mechanized irrigation to conserve farm inputs and increase grower profitability within the rice production industry, an initiative appropriately titled Circles for Rice.

In order to supply up-to-date information on Circles for Rice, Valmont Irrigation has developed a website dedicated to the project. Acting as a portal for anyone interested in growing rice under pivot and linear irrigation systems, the website includes features of the patent-pending process, recent news on rice production and the Valmont project, and specific details on many of the Circles for Rice production locations in the United States, Brazil, and Pakistan.

Information on the recent Circles for Rice and University of Missouri Delta Research Center field days, held in August 2009, is also available.

Valmont Irrigation has also developed a weblog, featuring weekly posts and updates about the global rice production project, written by certified personnel and members of the Circles for Rice team.

“We are extremely excited to utilize our new website, especially the blog,” states Jake LaRue, Product Manager, Valmont Irrigation. “I am looking forward to reaching audiences, old and new, with updates on the project.”

With the goal of being the world leader in efficient use of water for agriculture, Valmont Irrigation has been recognized globally as the leader in sales, service, quality, and technological expansion since its founding. This company remains dedicated to providing novel solutions now and well into the future.
