Vaughan Constructions has secured Cadbury as anchor tenant for Logis eco-industrial park located in South Dandenong, continuing its long history of providing modern and efficient solutions to the Dairy, Food, Manufacturing and Distribution industries.  Vaughan, acting as developer and contractor, is due to complete Cadbury’s new 27,000 sqm temperature controlled national distribution centre in September this year.

Jordan Grigg, Vaughans Victorian Development Manager, said the high tech Cadbury building was a perfect fit for the LOGIS estate that is Australia’s first ecologically focussed industrial estate. “Cadbury is a wonderful ‘A Grade ‘anchor tenant, an International icon, and one of Australia’s best known brands.” Mr Grigg said. It joins companies, including Murray Goulburn, Paramalat, Burra Foods, and Nestle, in selecting Vaughans to provide cost effective solutions to improve their business operating efficiencies.

Cadbury will establish its national distribution centre at LOGIS to become a leading demonstration for eco-friendly and commercially viable industrial business. Cadbury has a global target of 10% reduction in packaging as part of its Purple Goes Green commitments. After purchasing the site specifically for the Cadbury requirement, Vaughan is excited about the investment which it sees as a “long term hold” asset.

“We believe this deal further demonstrates Vaughan’s ability to convert quality opportunities into strong investments by using our specialist in-house investment, property, design and construction skills.”  says Mr. Grigg  “The food quality status of the company instantly enhances the attributes of the Industrial park and supports our view that it is one of the best located industrial estates in Australia,”

Logis has an outstanding working environment with a stunning landscaped master plan including tree-lined boulevards and streets, walking and bike tracks, recreation facilities and a proposed business service centre including retail and dining outlets, which is scheduled to open upon the development of LOGIS North. LOGIS is Victoria’s first eco-industrial park that will demonstrate economic and environmental outcomes in urban growth through sustainable land renewal.  The LOGIS eco-development principles have a strong synergy with Cadbury and Vaughan has commitment for sustainable production principles.
