The Victorian Western Region of the Australian Alpaca Association Ltd, also known as Alpacas VicWest, represents alpaca breeders in Western Victoria.

Alpacas VicWest encompasses all those areas situated between the South Australian border and Melbourne, as well as those within the coastal areas between Horsham and Ballarat.

The breeders association aims to promote the alpaca breeding industry throughout this vast, picturesque region of Victoria.

In order to promote the alpaca breeding industry a range of events are organised by the association for the benefit of alpaca breeders, such as Alpaca Fest.

This event, which is Western Victoria’s leading alpaca event, provides alpaca breeders with the opportunity to showcase their alpacas and alpaca products.

Other events include the Alpaca Fleece show, which is organised by the Hamilton Pastoral and Agricultural Society in conjunction with Alpacas VicWest.

The breeders association also encourages alpaca breeders to showcase their alpacas at the annual Warrnambool Agricultural Show.

The association provides a range of educational seminars and workshops which cover various issues and topics relevant to the alpaca breeding industry, from animal nutrition through to fleece optimisation.

Alpacas VicWest is designed for the benefit of its members, and as such provides them with networking opportunities, as well as a platform for discussion and debate about matters relevant to the alapaca breeding industry.

The association is comprised of a Committee of six people who work to ensure the needs of alpaca breeders in the region are fulfilled.

Furthermore, visitors are welcome to attend the association’s regional meetings.
