Wide Span Sheds Farm Sheds (1-Nov-2006)
Wide Span Sheds is the industry leader when it comes to Farm Sheds, whether it be Open Sided, Fully Enclosed, or Lean-To fitted.
Wide Span Sheds has reached an Australian first by using a software program, enabling them to simplify their business services for each customer and their individual needs.
Program designer James Greig said the Shed Management Software not only managed the business’ workflow but also produced the engineering specifications for steel buildings down to the millimetre.
“I think it’s fair to say there’s no other system like it in Australia,” James said.
“What it does is two-fold:
It handles office workflow from the moment a salesperson creates a quote to the last call made to the new owners making sure they are happy with their purchase
It also works out the full specifications and engineering points of each custom-designed building.”
What’s more, a unique construction manual is produced for each specific customer, cutting down on what you don’t need to know and focusing only on what you do.
“The manual has a picture of their own building on the front – no-one else’s – and only includes material and specific details that are relevant to their building,” James said. “For example, our connection details plan only outlines the connections you will need. Other companies list every possible connection – even when they don’t apply to you.
“The system will produce everything specifically for your purchase including:
shed layout plan
bracing plan
erectors plan
slab plan
bolt set-out plan
footing diagram
connection details
•specification set.
“All of this has meant that Wide Span Sheds has been able to offer a much better product to its customers at an increasingly competitive price,” James said.
