Design

Wide Span Sheds have 200 standard designs and over 10,000 non-standard combinations ranging in size from 10 - 10,000 m2. Our unique computer design system allows us to design and price almost any size and style of building quickly allowing us to dispatch most quotes in record time to your choice of email, fax or by post.

Engineering

With all of our buildings we supply engineering certification, comprehensive plans, drawings, footing detail and construction manuals to assist in the erection process. Our engineers have accreditation in many regions around the world and are members of some of the most respected engineering associations. We also offer engineering support and assistance so you can meet your local authority’s requirements.

Quality steel

BlueScope Steel (formerly BHP) are world leaders in producing high-grade steel. Wide Span Sheds only use a high-grade of 450 Mpa or better steel. This combined with hi-tensile BlueScope sheeting gives you the benefit of BlueScope product warranties to give you peace of mind.

Our structure

Our structures lead the market because of our extensive engineering and product development team. Our rafter over column adds significant strength over the majority of our competitors.

Our unique inner and outer haunch system ensure maximum strength of the most important connections in the building. Our brackets are made out of 450Mpa or greater Galvaspan Steel. We lead our competitors in the market as they often use pressed brackets (only able to pressed as it a lower grade plate) or welded connection which can weaken the steel and lead to corrosion of the joint.

Our roof purlins and wall grits are designed for maximum strength by overlapping for double security. Our buildings have as many as three times the bolts or screws per purlin connection than our competitors and as much as five times the overlaps than our major competitors.

The majority of our buildings have apex braces half the span of the building. This combined with the mid-truss connection joint forms a semi-rigid compression style truss adding significant strength to the portal design as well as making it much easier to construct.

The end wall comes under significant pressure in buildings, so Wide Span Sheds supply more end wall mullions to support these walls: more than any another company (maximum 4 meter spacing).

As well as compressive bracing throughout the building our bigger buildings have fly bracing and bridging on the purlin and grits rows (depending on bay sizes of the building).
