Wine Grape Growers Australia (WGGA) is the national peak body for all winegrape growers and associated entities in Australia.

What is the role of the WGGA?

  • Actively engage with wine grape growers actively to develop relevant policies and provide information to aid grower decision-making
  • Set and drive the national winegrape sector agenda
  • Drive winegrape sector and whole-of-industry strategies to deliver grower profitability and sustainability
  • Drive culture change in the wine industry
  • Facilitate improved resources for growers

WGGA acts on behalf of wine grape growers and the wine grape sector. It communicates with all levels of State and regional bodies and with growers directly.

Its key activities are:

  • National government and industry advocacy
  • Strategic planning and policy development, and implementation of national strategies for the wine grape sector
  • Provision of information for winegrape growers
  • Development and maintenance of collaborative industry sector relationships
  • Development and custodianship of industry codes of practice
  • Industry R&D program directions and oversight
  • National vineyard bio-security
  • Member service delivery
