Supplier News

Womboota Pastoral  are involved in breeding and developing livestock in Australia. Starritts, the founder of Womboota Pastoral, purchased ten ewes and lambs from J. A. Cochrane of Geelong, an ancient and prominent breeder in Australia. This was the base of what was to become a well-known Border Leicester stud in Australia.

The main aim of Womboota Pastoral was to breed sheep that would be more profitable and suitable for commercial breeders. Womboota Pastoral undertake mixed farming operations with the help of Border Leicester studs. Womboota Pastoral are also involved in replacing Merino enterprises based on the Riverina’s Peppin Merino, and in producing superior Border Leicester sheep.

The Superborders is an incorporated association that specialises in Border Leicester rams. These Border Leicester rams have high genetic merit in maternal traits like milk yield, growth rate and fertility.
