Woolaroo Merino Stud  are sheep breeders located in Australia. Woolaroo Merino Stud are operating in the Yass Plains. Peter Walker, founder of Woolaroo Merino stud, works with his sons, Charlie and Jack, in preparing, showing, classing, selecting, shearing and selling Merinos. Woolaroo Merino Stud are also involved in classifying studs and sheep of clients at Young, Goulburn, Yass, Bathurst, Temora and in Victoria.

Classification of clients’ sheep helps Woolaroo Merino Stud to understand requirements with regard to rams and ewes. This feedback helps Woolaroo Merino Stud to classify their sheep, based on breeders’ requirements. Woolaroo Merino Stud have developed two Woolaroo families namely the Ringmasters and Purples.

The Purples of Woolaroo Merino Stud offer good wool cut and size while Ringmasters offer low wool micron and softness. The wool of the average mature Ringmaster ewes varies between 17 and 18 micron. Woolaroo Merino Stud use Merryville superfine and fine rams to produce their sheep and ewes. The main aim of Woolaroo Merino Stud is to breed sheep on a large scale with fine wool characteristics.
